<p>Calvary Temple Christian Church, new Enterprise Wheat Ridge member,  located at 7390 W. 38th Ave., Wheat Ridge, CO offers a Food Pantry the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. This food pantry is set up to be a resource for the city of Wheat Ridge residents. There are no commitments to be eligible to receive food from Calvary Temple, and the requirements are: to have a need, and proof of Wheat Ridge residency. Next distribution dates are April 10 and April 24.</p>

<p><strong>Relay for Life Wheat Ridge/Lakewood</strong></p>
<p>The Relay For Life of Wheat Ridge and Lakewood will take place July 9-10 6 p.m.- 7 a.m. at Red Rocks Community College.  Teams of 8-15 people participate in the Relay by camping out and taking turns walking laps around a track all night.  They ask each participant to raise at least $100 in order to receive an event t-shirt.  The event lasts all night to symbolize the fact that cancer never sleeps.  To make Relay For Life a success in the Wheat Ridge community, Relay needs the help and support of community organizations and businesses.  They are seeking sponsors, volunteers, planning committee members, and individuals to participate as a team captain or team member.  If you are interested, please contact: Abby Hoffman Community Relationship Manager, 720.524.5454 or Abby.Hoffman@cancer.org</p>

These 3 winners shopped and spent at least 5.00, 8 times in Wheat Ridge between Nov 1 and Dec 31.  Many thanks for the generous donations of items and gift certificates for products and services that went into the prize bags.  This was our initial attempt at promoting Shopping Wheat Ridge First.  Thanks to all who participated.  We will definitely be gearing up for a Back To School version of this near mid summer (and repeat the holiday program in Dec. 2010.)</p>

<p><strong>WR2020 will be offering its fourth Planning and Development Academy</strong> starting in February.  The academy is open to Wheat Ridge residents and business owners and strives to give students an overview of the city planning and development processes.  There is no charge to participate, though donations are welcomed.</p>
<p>The academy consists of four classes and a field trip.  Since the curriculum is progressive we ask that students commit to attending 4 of the 5 sessions to graduate.  Graduation is held at a City Council meeting. Class dates are Tuesday evenings (2/2, 2/16, 3/2, 3/16, the field trip date will be set by the class) and will be held at the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center on Kipling.  Dinner starts at 5:30 pm, classes run from 6-9 pm.</p>

CU Buffs Basketball game</strong> to benefit the Backpack Program which provides nutritious food for children from Pennington Elementary School during the weekend. The Wheat Ridge Optimist Club and the CU Athletic Department are offering low-cost tickets. Men&#8217;s game is 2 pm.  Purchase tickets at CUBuffs.com  Click on Tickets, then Purchase tickets online, it will then ask for User ID and Password.  PENNINGTON is the User ID and Password as well. Purchase tickets by Jan 15.</p>
