Grocery bags needed for Feed the Future Since we started the Backpack feeding program at Stevens, we are really in need of plastic grocery bags again. Lots of them. Each student’s food items are double bagged so if we are filling 100 student backpacks, we use 200 grocery bags each Thursday and that is only for one school. There are 3 schools being serviced at this time by Feed the Future. Please bring them to the next EWR breakfast or drop them off at Stevens Elementary in the office area.

Specific dates are February 7 and 21, March 6 and 20. Plus a field trip to be determined by the class participants. Cost is $15. WELCOME 2012 …

The talk of the town are the Broncos, so we, too,  must, include them. Spectacular plays, teamwork and knowing We Can, won the game on Sunday. The fact that they never gave up is an attitude to be admired and mirrored. With the advent of a new year … and setting goals for ourselves … this will serve us well as each of achieve and succeed this year. The spirit of the year is positive … many saying the recession is lessening, banks are more receptive to commercial loans and people are spending money. In my small world of real estate, inventory is down considerably from 2011, so those folks selling homes have the advantage … when did we last see this happen?!? I’m actually in a bidding war for one of my homes as this is being written. So … have clarity on what you want to Accomplish, Receive and Add to your life. Then, simply Know it will happen … of course, you will have to do some work here … and finally Enjoy the Reward!

Thanks for the volunteers who helped sort food for 96 students as we kicked off the Feed the Future program at Stevens Elementary on Jan 5. A great group came, almost all from the appeal at the E WR luncheon. Our designated standing date is the first Thursday of each month. It’s done each Thursday of the month at 9 am if the first Thur won’t work into your schedule. It takes less than 1/2 hr of your time and makes a huge difference to the students and their families. We were on the cutting edge of this trend when the Denver Post ran an article a few years back and Wheat Ridge was one of the cities featured. We are also the only city I know that gives awards to the consumer via a drawing!

We wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving.  Whether you are celebrating at home, in a restaurant or on the slopes, here’s to a day of being together and being grateful….Speaking of grateful, please know how grateful we are to have you as part of Enterprise Wheat Ridge.  With all of us working toward the same goal of a better and stronger community, we are very lucky!

-      Wheat Ridge Lighting ceremony is one of the Enterprise Wheat Ridge major sponsored events.  It takes place this year on Sun. Dec. 4, 6 pm. at the Wheat Ridge Rec Center, 4005 Kipling.  Lighting of the lights, hay rides, Santa visits, cookies and more.  Let’s have a big turnout for this free event which will be held both inside and outside.  Dress warm and bring your favorite little ones.  Starts at 6 p.m. and is over by 7:30.

-      Passport to Wheat Ridge continues. If you have a gift or certificate you would like to donate for the 3 prize bags, please bring that to the Dec. 13 luncheon.  We hope you will join us that day for one of the best celebrations around…Be sure to register early.  The information at the top of this e-blast gives the registration information.
